Command Sergeant Major Bruce Ecclestone

Command Sergeant Major Bruce Eccleston is the Washington State Senior Enlisted Advisor for Headquarters, Camp Murray, Washington National Guard. He represents the highest level of enlisted leadership for the Washington National Guard and is responsible for the welfare, readiness, morale, development, and care for over 7,500 enlisted personnel of the Washington National Guard.

CSM Ecclestone joined the Army in 1987 as an M1 Tank Turret Mechanic and attended Basic and Advanced Individual training at Fort Knox Kentucky.  CSM Ecclestone served on Active duty for four years where he was stationed with the 10th Cavalry at Fort Knox Kentucky and 1st Armored Division in Bamberg Germany and participated in Operation Desert Storm with the 1st Armored Division.  CSM Ecclestone left the Army to attend College in September of 1991.  While attending college CSM Ecclestone realized that he missed the camaraderie of Soldiers, the Army, and working on tanks so he enlisted into the Washington Army National Guard in February of 1992 and was assigned to Bravo Company 1- 303rd Armor in Pasco, WA.   CSM Ecclestone’s assignments within the Washington Army National guard include: Recovery Vehicle Operator, Bradley Fighting Vehicle Systems Mechanic, Recovery Supervisor, and M1 Tank Maintenance Supervisor with the 81st BDE, BDE Maintenance NCO with 96th Troop Command, Tracked Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor with HQ-STARC, BDE Maintenance NCO with 66th Theater Aviation Command, and 1SG for the newly established 286th Engineer Company, Command Sergeant Major, HHD 741st OD BN, Command Sergeant Major, 81st BSTB, Command Sergeant Major 81st ABCT as it transformed to the 81st SBCT, Washington Army National Guard Land Component Command Sergeant Major, Washington Army National Guard State Command Sergeant Major. 

 His education includes a degree in business administration, and a multitude of military courses culminating with his graduation from the United States Army Sergeants Majors Academy.  

CSM Ecclestone’s awards include the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the National defense Service Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Kuwaiti Liberation Medals, Washington State Commendation Medal, Washington State Achievement Medal, Washington Emergency Service Ribbon,  and the Louisiana Emergency Service Ribbon.

 CSM Ecclestone is currently on an AGR Tour as the State Command Sergeant Major and has a federal technician career that spans over 25 years. 

CSM Ecclestone and his wife Janie currently reside in Richland Washington and are the proud parents of 6 Children and grandparents of 8 wonderful grandchildren.
